That right up there is my newest guitar...and it's a freaking beauty. And as far as I'm concerned, it's my LAST guitar...unless somebody just up and gives me one for some reason later. I've got plenty of instruments right now, so I think I'll just keep to what I've got and put the rest on … Continue reading It’s time to stop collecting & start practicing…or else, what’s the point?
Glad I had all day at home. Spent the day going back and forth between packing the last stuff I have in the house and watching segments from Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. I am still working hard on getting out the door by mid-morning tomorrow and setting up in the garage. I had … Continue reading The “Last Minute Move” Weight-Lifting and Cardio Workout.
This is something that cropped up last week and kind of petered out. I haven't heard anything else, at the very least. My dad's got friends, some with their own health issues. I was startled last Tuesday when one of dad's friends (I'll call him Adam for privacy) called my cell phone out of the … Continue reading Trusting Yourself, Even When You’re Not Sure What You’re Doing
I've been trying to write for three days now, and this is one thing that's come into and out of my mind the past week. Namely, how to achieve such an interesting idea, when you have a mind like mine. I've noticed a sleepless trend the last few months. To be more precise, it's the inability to know how much sleep I've gotten or if it could be considered sleep. Most of my nights remind me of the one M*A*S*H episode of exhausted Hawkeye telling Col. Blake. "I had a dream that I was asleep … Continue reading Finding my dreams: or, how to stop working in my sleep…
I think consistency and procrastination had a love child, and I found the birth certificate in my sock drawer. There's just something about saying you're trying to do right for yourself that makes the universe piss itself laughing in response. Consistency is one of the most difficult things for me to accomplish, especially with getting … Continue reading Restarting the fitness plan… again… & again… aw, hell. 😦
See previous post for more context...and rationalization. Well, I made it home safe, sound, and with more energy than I would've expected after being awake for 34 hours (from 7 am Monday to 5 pm Tuesday). I did, however, learn a few things from those websites that I wouldn't mind passing along. And yes, I … Continue reading Epilogue to “A 30-hour workday: or, I’m an Idiot.”
Okay, I found myself in this position for 2 reasons: (1) I gotta be careful of what I wish for, like wanting more work hours and experience. (2) When people are getting fired/moving in BOTH work places, and you're the only one who can do the job in each...well, there's bound to be overlap at some point.
