I had that broken white laundry basket sitting in my living room, getting ever fuller for over a month before tonight. I just spent over two hours trying to organize all the crap that was in it, and a milk crate full of magazines I hadn't had a chance to read or go through yet. … Continue reading Best laid plans, laundry baskets, & files
I had to remind myself of that. So. Damned. Many. Times. Too many. I was feeling tired, worn down, depressed, annoyed, headachy, and just trying to find something--anything--to do. I didn't wanna clean house, and it was a bit hot outside so I didn't take the dogs out right away when I got home. Rather, … Continue reading In spite of everything, we’ve had some crazy beautiful weather out there…
For those who've read here before, you know I generally HATE Sundays. I've hated them because of how some places just aren't open, or close so early, or open so late, and that hour between 2 and 3 just drags on forever. By the time you decide to go somewhere, everybody else has had the … Continue reading Feels like it’s going to be weeks & weeks of Sundays (most of the time).
at least, there's a direction I'm going in. Between trying to clean this place and getting fed up with the rain, I've been trying to install shelves in my office. There's just something about saying you're trying to do right for yourself that makes the universe piss itself laughing in response. Consistency is one of the most difficult things for me to accomplish, especially with getting … Continue reading Restarting the fitness plan… again… & again… aw, hell. 😦
I wish I could say that I'd been doing a helluva lot of good work on job searching and getting my ducks in a row. Probably the best thing I did was sign up for a couple of online courses on technical writing and communication. Otherwise, I lived in a wooooorld of pure pro-cras-ti-na-tion (cue the Gene Wilder/Willy Wonka parody).
I was almost proud of myself when I made my "fool-proof" schedule a couple of weeks ago, with everything nicely color coded. Red was for exercise/health, yellow for story writing, green for work/volunteering, blue for blog, pink for painting, and orange for deadlines and everything else. I had spent a whole two days making it … Continue reading #008–“Being an Artist for Dummies,” or how do you make a living from two wildly different creative pursuits at the same time?
