I had that broken white laundry basket sitting in my living room, getting ever fuller for over a month before tonight. I just spent over two hours trying to organize all the crap that was in it, and a milk crate full of magazines I hadn't had a chance to read or go through yet. … Continue reading Best laid plans, laundry baskets, & files
I'm relieved my bestie didn't freak on me and go "what the crap is wrong with you?" when I decided that me and this opportunity are gonna have to go our separate ways. Because of privacy, I'm not divulging much about my work or the company. The big thing is I was in the running … Continue reading Passing up what could be a good opportunity, only to hope for a better one…
I love Super Mario Bros. Anyhoo... I suppose being sick for over a solid week has just screwed me up. First it was allergies, then it was a full-blown cold. The weather can't make up it's mind. it's supposed to be in the 80 degree range this week then jump straight into summer, at least, … Continue reading Digging that side tunnel: a cousin to rock-bottom
Yes, you can hear the whine at the end of that statement--it's accurate. I can make plans and tell myself all I want, but there's something about winter that doesn't make me want water. And then I stop drinking it entirely. Maybe it's because it's cold outside and I should want something warm, or I … Continue reading Getting that water in this year…but it’s wintertime!
This is something I've noticed about myself when it comes to working and getting in the groove. I just want to keep going. There's something about the holidays that I just hate, and they come and go with the seasons. I'm annoyed by most holidays and wish we didn't make such a big deal about … Continue reading 5 (okay, 6) Reasons why Halloween is my favorite commercialized holiday

Ah, how the media have bristled with evangelical preachers/ celebrities denouncing American society and insisting these storms and other natural phenomena are like God wagging it's finger at us and telling people to stop being naughty and repent. Yeah, because the couple in … Continue reading I’m tired of the “God’s Punishment” crap we keep getting from preachers wanting their 15 minutes (more) in the media…
I suppose if I was smarter and less susceptible to my own bullshit, I'd have been going through my short stories and writing more on these impromptu days off instead of playing "Clue" and watching Akira for the umpteenth time on the desktop.
I noticed last week that one of my bosses told me "I trust you" when it came to the front-desk work that I'm still learning about. Being that I'm the senior-most employee working that section, (and that's a helluva shocker), it was a bit startling.... And that I don't recall hearing that phrase much, if ever.
Seriously, this week sleep and I have become estranged. I know one thing that would help is no more coffee after about 1 p.m. (duh), but otherwise, the thoughts bounding around my noggin like rabbits don't help...
