As a ship nerd, I’m all about documentaries and ship stories… and have been since I was a little early elementary aged turd and learned about the Titanic (ze gateway drug to learning about statistics and disaster stories, it seems). Wanna go to the library? Hells yeah. Who’s gonna be coming out with a bunch of shipwreck books? This chick right here.
And saturating myself with scary pictures and stories of death and destruction on the sea probably led to me being certain I’m too chicken to travel on the sea… probably forever.
Anyhoo, out of the blue, I got a recommend in my feed and found the terrible (super-short) sailing history of the Cardboard Glory… and I couldn’t stop squealing in laughter while cringing. My imagination takes over with things like this. Whether it was a dollhouse or a weirdly-shaped hill, I could spend hours imagining miniature people walking around and living their lives, and making up stories about them.
But wow–now I wanna watch the rest of the vids (and by the way, try not to laugh when you watch the “theater” as the water comes in the first time–I lost it at that point; it was just too good).
A five-minute laugh on this weird first weekend of the year. I needed it after hearing about Betty White’s passing over the weekend (dammit).
someone was very creative.
