What do Foreign Correspondents Think of the U.S.? (video from The New Yorker)

This just happened to pop up in my YouTube feed this morning and I had to watch it several times. It’s what the title says, and it’s enlightening and disheartening all at the same time.

Journalists are not the freaking enemy of the people. They are OF the people more than the damned politicians, for crying out loud. And I wish we (so-called “exceptional Americans”) would get off our high horse about how great we are, smiling smugly while the foreigner just nods politely while what came out of our mouths was 99% bullshit.

This is a must-see if you haven’t already. If you already watch plenty of foreign news, then this might not tell you much. If you typically don’t, though… yeah, we might wanna start:
